FIRST COMMERCIAL!!!
Marloes and I just heard yesterday that we are FINALLY going to shoot our first cinema commercial! We thought of the idea around a year ago and it has been approved by the client and we are going to shoot on Monday night at 8:30 at a comedy theater in Amsterdam.
We briefed 5 comedians and they are going to do a skit of 5-10 minutes in front of a live audience and while they perform we are going to shoot the commercial.
The commercial is for Bio, an organization that provides a vacation place for mentally and physically disabled kids. The idea is to make a compilation video of dutch comedians making jokes about handicaps. Jokes that will make the public and viewer laugh really hard. We want to capture people laughing and making fun at the cost of disabled people. The funnier the jokes, the better the message will be: "We know you sometimes laugh on our account, now can we laugh on your account." "Support the BIO holiday resort. A place that gives unlimited possibilities for handicapped and chronically ill kids." And in Dutch, ‘Als je om ze kan lachen, kan je ook om ze geven!’
With our idea we hope that the public will realize that disabled kids are not stupid, they know when people are using them for the sake of laughter. We hope that with our end message, we are showing people that handicap kids are brave enough to point out on this fact. They don't mind that people use their physical features for laughter as long as people are also willing to support them.
This is our first big project that is going through and it will be shown in movie theaters! ..which in advertising is a rare chance. And the great thing is that we're doing it for a good purpose! We're very excited and i'll give you an update on how it went. Wish us luck!

A couple of weeks ago, the guerilla chief in our office thought of an idea to make the office environment more fun. We have a huge field surrounding our office and so they created a golf tournament. The interns cut the grass and placed a little pool fountain. They were also the caddy of the CEO of Lowe and Draft.

I made these for steve's parents a while back and never got the chance to take a picture of it until this weekend. Steve's mom use to be a nurse and steve's dad is a doctor. The picture was taken in their home backyard in Hengelo.

Prime minister of holland donated his space!!!
My team (Floor, Jordi, Kelly) and I worked hard for the past year with Move Your World organization and if finally paid off!!!! This Friday we finally reached our goal for "Donate your Space" campaign. Reminder: the goal of the campaign was to get the attention of the government so that they will push through with reaching the 8 Millennium goals by 2015.
As much effort as we put into this campaign, it won't make much difference in the third world countries. The people that are in power are the ones that can make a real difference. And all we had to do was inspire the government with our creativity and determination. And so we have been asking since the beginning of our campaign to meet with the prime minister of Holland (Balkenende) and our request was finally granted. Prime Minister Balkenende and Minister Koenders acknowledged our work and was amazed by our creativity and interest in the 8 Millennium goals. On the 25th of September they will meet with the UN and he is going to mention our campaign and the enthusiasm of the young Dutch people.
We had a little press moment at the government building in Den Haag. Minister Koenders was so impressed with the idea of donating your space he asked us how we came up with the idea. It was our proud moment. In the ceremony, we gave both of them a "Donate Your Space" tie and a board which showed pictures of people's participation. And in the end he donated a space in his office.
Floor, Jordi, and I left the building feeling satisfied and happy to know that the work we did for the past year has paid off. Our idea was recognized and supported by so many different types of people, from teenagers, people abroad, senior citizens, to the government. And the best thing is that we did it to help the world. Thanks for all your participation and support guys!

A hot summers day in amsterdam!
Yesterday was one of the nicest hottest summer day in amsterdam!
We chilled, we threw the frisbee, played volleyball and I tried flying a kite for the first time. The kite was a birthday gift from Alex the 2 euro 3D kite. It was so much fun but too bad there wasn't a lot of wind so the kite didn't fly that high. So steve had the brilliant idea to try and fly the kite while biking. And afterwards I even tried biking on my own. Oh yea of course we had to bbq on a portable grill that you can get at the supermarket. It was the perfect summer's day.

Happy 6th year anniversary poop!
Yesterday was our 6th year anniversary.
We had a nice dinner and ate paella! yummss although the waiter made a mistake and ordered the seafood instead!!! dasar! but it was still good.. and some sangria which made me babble on and on to steve about past lives and other weird stuff that i couldn't explain properly hahahah
we gave each other small gifts.. i gave him a cute "thank you" book thanking him for everything he has done for me the past year and a half.
and steve gave me a really cool necklace of a bullet and a tag that says "bang bang". he says it represents our "explosive" relationship ahahah and he hopes for more explosive memories and it's also a sign of warning that everytime we fight i should take the bullet out of the gun instead of shooting it at him. ahahha nice try with the symbolism poop. Doesnt matter i really like the necklace anywyas..

Valkenburg trip..
August 2nd weekend i went on a trip with steve's family for his mom's bday. We went to a little town called Valkenburg, which means falcon castle.
One interesting thing about the trip was the gemeentegrot (town cave). The cave dates back 2000 years ago.
The cave was used by the Romans, soldiers in the world wars, fugitive as hiding spot and etc. The whole cave is made of chalk and because of this many people have created art pieces simply by carving out the chalk walls or drawing on it with charcoal. The cave was huge and it was dark and cold inside, we had to stick closely to our group and tour guide cause if we got lost we may never be found!!! It happened once that 2 boys went into the cave for fun and got lost. They walked around the cave blind and only guiding themselves by putting both hands on the chalk wall. They were found 2 weeks later both dead and their fingers bleeding.
